Parenting Students
Being a pregnant or parenting university student in Illinois presents a unique set of challenges shaped by social, economic, and learning conditions. These students often face financial strain, lack of access to affordable childcare, limited support networks, and difficulties balancing academic responsibilities with parenting duties.
Recognizing the need for solutions, advocates and researchers have explored various questions to address the issues faced by parenting students. UIC's Women's Leadership and Resource Center aims to not only understand these challenges but also to share information and strategies to support parenting students on their educational journey.
